Description: A vintage EA 112 office/desk chair from the aluminium range designed in 1958.
This particular chair probably dates from the late 1970s to early 1980s, and is in general good original vintage condition. The chrome has some pitting to areas of the base and the underside of the seat, but it isn't flaking or serious and can mainly be observed when the chair is lying on it's back. The leather is in good order with no rips or staining, however there is some minor wear on the corners (most worn corner is pictured) which is common on these chairs. The chair has it's original Herman Miller embossed stamp & Vitra label intact.
This chair retailed new for around £2500...

An iconic Charles and Ray Eames design from 1958, this EA 117 Aluminium chair was made by ICF was one of three European companies (Vitra and Hille were the others) licenced by Herman Miller to manufacture aluminium group chairs for the European market.
This example is in good condition. The chrome arms are in excellent order and the base is in good condition too. The leather is in very good condition overall, and has had relatively light use. However, as one can see from the images, the seat base has slightly sagged in the middle. There is wear, as is normal, at the seat corners and at the corners of the seat back (please see photos). The chair swivels beautifully, height system works smoothly as do the castors...
