All our vintage fabrics are hand loomed, mostly from hemp or linen. They range in age, nearly all will be pre 1950s and many of them much older, most at least 70 years old. The hand looming of fabric was a very labour intensive process and each roll took many hours to make. Home loomed fabric has a wonderful texture. When you buy this fabric you really are buying a piece of history. We wash all fabric lengths before despatch

Original, hand woven vintage linen and hemp grain sacks.

With a multitude of uses..

Vintage Hungarian linen is well known for its quality, attractiveness and durability. These hand woven pieces have improved with age and we have yet to find a modern fabric of the same quality.

Vintage Hungarian grain sacks come in a variety of weaves and stripe colours. They are hand woven, mostly from home spun vintage hemp. Hemp softens and lightens with age and washing. These sacks date from the early 1900s to about 1940, the cloth is fantastic and are full of character. We have a large number in stock not all of which are shown on our website. Please email us for particular requirements. All our vintage grain sacks are soaked, washed and ironed prior to being despatched
